Time handled
with care
Nakara looks after your watch — from a fresh battery to a patient antique restoration. Each piece is treated as the thing it is: a mechanism with its own history, worth attending to properly.
What We Do
Our Services
Three core services, each suited to a different kind of watch and a different kind of need. All done at our workshop on Phra Athit Road.
Battery & Seal Renewal
Considerate care for quartz pieces that need a fresh cell and a seal review. We replace the battery, clean the contacts, renew gaskets where required, and check the case closure. Where the watch is rated for it, we confirm water resistance.
- New cell and contact cleaning
- Gasket renewal where needed
- Water resistance check
- Usually a few days turnaround
Service & Timing Adjustment
A balanced service for mechanical watches that have drifted from accurate timekeeping. We clean and re-oil the movement, inspect the balance and escapement, and regulate for steadier running across positions.
- Full movement clean and re-oil
- Balance and escapement inspection
- Regulation across positions
- Crown and crystal seal renewal
Antique Watch Restoration
A patient restoration for antique and early mechanical watches that ask for specialist care. We overhaul the movement with period-appropriate methods, conserve the case and dial to honor their age, and discuss preservation choices openly with you.
- Period-appropriate overhaul methods
- Case and dial conservation
- Open discussion of all choices
- Six to nine weeks
Why Nakara
What Sets Our Workshop Apart
Thorough Assessment First
Every piece is assessed before work begins. You receive a clear explanation of what is needed and what it will cost, without pressure.
Hands-On Craftsmanship
No outsourcing. Each watch is handled in our own workshop by the same technician from intake to completion.
Open Communication
We keep you informed at each stage. If something unexpected surfaces, we reach out before continuing.
Careful Handling Throughout
Watches rest on soft surfaces, tools are chosen to avoid unnecessary contact, and each piece is logged on arrival and departure.
Realistic Timelines
We quote timelines we can keep. Quartz work typically takes a few days; mechanical service two to three weeks; antique restoration up to nine weeks.
Central Bangkok Location
Our workshop sits on Phra Athit Road in Phra Nakhon, accessible from the river pier and within easy reach of the old city.

Common Questions
Answers to Frequent Questions
How do I bring my watch in?
You are welcome to walk in during our opening hours, or contact us first by phone or email to arrange a convenient time. We will log the watch on arrival and give you a written description of what we find during assessment.
Do you work on all watch brands?
We work on most Swiss and Japanese movements, including vintage and antique pieces. If your watch is something unusual, contact us first — we will tell you honestly whether it falls within our experience before you make the trip.
Will you tell me the cost before starting work?
Yes. After assessment we provide a written estimate. Work only begins once you have agreed to it. If something unforeseen comes up during the service, we will contact you before proceeding further.
How long will my watch be away?
Battery and seal renewal usually takes a few days. A mechanical service runs two to three weeks. Antique restoration is slower — typically six to nine weeks — because it requires patience and careful decision-making at each stage. We will give you a specific estimate when we assess your piece.
Is my watch safe while it is with you?
Every watch is photographed and logged on intake. It stays in our secure, climate-controlled workshop during the entire service. We handle it ourselves — it does not leave our premises or pass through third parties.
Can you restore a watch that has sentimental value but is not high in market value?
Sentimental pieces are very much within our work. We approach them with the same care as any other. During assessment we will discuss what the watch needs and what is realistically achievable, so you can decide with full information.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash (Thai Baht), bank transfer, and major cards. Payment is made when you collect the watch. For antique restoration projects, we may ask for a deposit before work begins; this will be discussed and agreed in advance.
