Terms & Conditions
These terms govern the relationship between Nakara and clients who bring watches to us for assessment, service, or restoration. Please read them before leaving your timepiece in our care.
Last updated: May 2026 · Nakara, 47 Phra Athit Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Nakara ("we", "us", "our") to clients ("you", "your") who bring watches or other timepieces to our workshop at 47 Phra Athit Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand. By leaving a watch with us for assessment or service, you accept these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time your watch is received governs the service.
2. Services We Offer
Nakara provides watch repair and restoration services including but not limited to:
- Battery and seal renewal for quartz timepieces
- Mechanical service and timing adjustment
- Antique and vintage watch restoration
- General assessment and condition reporting
All services are carried out at our workshop on Phra Athit Road by our own technicians. We do not outsource work to third parties. If a service falls outside our scope or capability, we will tell you at the assessment stage.
3. Intake and Assessment
When you bring a watch to us, we will photograph and log its condition on arrival. You will receive a written intake record. This record documents the watch's visible condition at the time it was received and forms part of our service agreement with you.
Following intake, we will assess the watch and prepare a written estimate of the work required and the cost involved. We will contact you to discuss this estimate before any service work begins.
Assessment itself is free of charge. No cost is incurred unless you approve the estimate and confirm that you wish the work to proceed.
4. Estimates and Authorisation
All estimates are provided in writing. Work does not begin until you have authorised the estimate in writing or by confirming by phone or email that you approve the work described.
If, during the course of a service, we discover additional work that was not foreseeable at the assessment stage, we will stop and contact you before proceeding. You may approve the additional work, decline it and receive the watch back in its current state, or discuss alternatives with us. No additional charges will be incurred without your prior authorisation.
Prices are quoted in Thai Baht and include any applicable tax unless otherwise stated.
5. Timelines
Estimated completion times are given in good faith based on our current workload and the nature of the service. They are not binding commitments. Factors outside our control — including the availability of particular parts or unexpected findings during the service — may affect the actual completion date.
We will notify you promptly if we expect a significant delay beyond the estimate given.
Indicative timelines by service type:
- Battery & Seal Renewal: usually a few days
- Service & Timing Adjustment: approximately two to three weeks
- Antique Watch Restoration: six to nine weeks, depending on the piece
6. Care of Your Watch
We take the care of watches in our custody seriously. While your watch is with us:
- It is stored securely in our locked, climate-controlled workshop
- It does not leave our premises during the service
- It is handled only by our own technicians
- Its condition is documented at intake and at the point of return
We will exercise reasonable professional care in handling your watch. However, we are not liable for pre-existing damage or faults that were present when the watch was brought to us, which may become apparent during or after a service. Such findings will always be communicated to you.
7. Parts and Materials
Where replacement parts are required, we use suitable components sourced from reputable suppliers. We will always tell you if an original manufacturer's part is unavailable and discuss alternatives before fitting any substitute.
For antique restoration work, we aim to use period-appropriate materials and methods wherever possible. Our approach to each antique piece is discussed with the client before work begins.
8. Collection and Payment
Payment is due in full at the time you collect your watch. We accept cash (Thai Baht), bank transfer, and major credit and debit cards.
For antique restoration projects, we may request a deposit of up to fifty percent of the estimated cost before work begins. This will be discussed and agreed with you in advance and documented in your estimate.
If a watch is not collected within sixty days of completion notice being given, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable storage fee. If a watch is not collected within six months of completion notice, we may contact you to discuss alternative arrangements.
9. Service Record
Upon collection, you will receive a written service summary describing the work performed, any parts replaced, and relevant observations about the watch's condition. We recommend keeping this record with the watch for future reference.
10. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the cost of that service as invoiced. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including sentimental or collector value attributed to a timepiece.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Thai law.
11. Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern about any aspect of our service, we ask that you contact us directly in the first instance at [email protected] or by telephone at +66 2 718 4925. We will endeavour to resolve any issue promptly and fairly.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand.
